Brad Bell is the founder of BLG and a long-time resident of Tampa, FL. He graduated high school from Berkeley Prep and received a double major in Economics and International Affairs from Florida State University. After college, Mr. Bell worked in the family business before attending South Texas College of Law where he excelled academically.

Mr. Bell began his legal career in 1999 as a staff attorney for the Second District Court of Appeal in Lakeland, Florida. After several years with the appellate court, Mr. Bell worked with several AV rated commercial litigation and insurance defense firms as both an associate and a partner before starting BLG in 2013. Mr. Bell has been involved in numerous jury and non-jury trials over the years in both the state and federal courts.

One hundred percent of Mr. Bell’s practice is focused on litigation. He prides himself on building strong relationships with his clients by keeping them informed and involved through all aspects of their case. This relationship encourages the client to ask questions and be heard throughout the litigation process. As a result, most of Mr. Bell’s clients return as future clients for years to come. Most of Mr. Bell’s clients (be they national or international corporations, insurance companies, local businesses or individuals) have been dedicated clients of Mr. Bell’s for years.

Philip A. Beach

Philip A. Beach joined BLG in 2014. Admitted to the Maryland Bar in 2000 and to the Florida Bar in 2004, he has been principally engaged in commercial and construction litigation.

Phil’s areas of concentration include all aspects of business and complex civil litigation, construction defect litigation, contract disputes, collections, and insurance defense.

Mr. Beach received his undergraduate degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia in 1992 and his juris doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1999. While in law school, Mr. Beach served for two years as a judicial law clerk to Alfred L. Brennan, Sr., and Kathleen Gallogly Cox, Associate Judges, Third Judicial Circuit, Baltimore County, Maryland. His experience participating in jury and bench trials led to a desire to practice law as a civil litigator.

He is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Trial Lawyers Section of the Florida Bar.

Douglas J. Collins

Mr. Collins is a partner at Bell Law Group. Mr. Collins’ practice is focused on insurance defense and civil rights/governmental liability.  Mr. Collins has represented municipalities and Fortune 500 corporations in numerous litigation matters, ranging from contract and employment disputes to liability and constitutional claims.

Mr. Collins received his undergraduate degree in Legal and Political Philosophy from the University of North Florida.  He then graduated from Stetson University College of Law with a Certificate of Concentration in Advocacy. Mr. Collins is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, Defense Research Institute (DRI) and Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA).

Mr. Collins has been named a “Florida Super Lawyer Rising Star” in the area of civil litigation (2014-2018).

Michael T. Relihan

Michael T. Relihan grew up in Apollo Beach, Florida, where he attended East Bay Senior High School. Following graduation, Mr. Relihan remained in Tampa, Florida, and attended the University of South Florida. Mr. Relihan was active in Student Government, New Student Orientation and Greek Leadership. Mr. Relihan graduated from USF with a degree in International Studies.

Mr. Relihan was fortunate to remain in the Tampa Bay Area for his legal studies, attending Stetson University College of Law. As a student, Mr. Relihan worked in Stetson’s Office of Alumni Relations and interned with the St. Petersburg City Attorney’s Office. While an intern, Mr. Relihan was selected to research and advise on matters relating to Florida Sunshine Law’s application to modern technology, regulatory matters affecting the municipal storm sewer system, and eminent domain acquisitions.

Mr. Relihan has worked for Partners Bradley S. Bell and Douglas J. Collins since 2009, as both a law clerk and later as an attorney. As a law clerk, Mr. Relihan conducted extensive research on construction lien foreclosure defense, insurance defense and premises liability issues, commercial landlord/tenant disputes, and various other commercial litigation matters. Since 2009, Mr. Relihan frequently attended trials, hearings and depositions with the Partners of BLG and obtained expansive knowledge of civil litigation before ever receiving his Juris Doctor degree in 2014. He prides himself on analyzing a case, finding solutions, and obtaining favorable and efficient solutions for his clients.

Emily L. Tang
Attorney





Emily L. Tang is an experienced litigator and passionate advocate. Mrs. Tang is an Associate at BLG where she focuses her practice on commercial litigation and insurance defense. She represents clients in litigation matters ranging from contract disputes to liability and constitutional claims.

Prior to joining the firm, Mrs. Tang served as an Assistant Public Defender for the 20th Judicial Circuit of Florida. She gained significant litigation experience by handling all aspects of felony, misdemeanor, and traffic cases from intake through sentencing. Mrs. Tang has tried over twenty jury trials and conducted hundreds of hearings.

A proud Volunteer, Mrs. Tang obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Tennessee. A Southwest Florida native, she returned home to earn her Juris Doctor at Ave Maria School of Law in Naples, Florida. There, she earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Florida Constitutional Law, became an Associate Editor for the Ave Maria Law Review, and served on the Editorial Board as Business Manager. Mrs. Tang enhanced her legal studies, by completing a corporate law course at the University of Cologne in Cologne, Germany.

Mrs. Tang enjoys spending her free time cheering for her Tennessee Volunteers and New York Rangers with her husband, Andrew, and their dog, Sadie. She is licensed to practice in Florida and is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association.
